A humorous article that sums up a small fraction of what I dislike about the EU, and why it wouldn't be all bad if it some of it were nullified. However, they claim the Clone Wars movie (as well as the Ewoks movies) as being EU when it is, in fact, canon.

Read this article a while back and it's bogus. It quotes old Marvel comics like they should have known better back then. HA! Come on! It was the 70's. While some comics had good stories back then, 90% of them were fluff like this. (oh and Skippy the Droid was printed in an issue of Star Wars tales, which constantly printed non-canon stuff)
ReplyDeleteThe books it picks on have some merit. I've already marked "The Crystal Star" as one of the worst Star Wars books too so no surprise there.
Zahn naming Luke's clone Luuke is pretty bad but he (like the Jedi Prince series) came out when there was no other EU out there, so those books stumbled a bit getting out the gate.
Kevin J Anderson's Sun Crusher story he got WAY wrong! I'm surprised no one's corrected him on it but that's not what happened in the books.
And the Hutt Dark Jedi wasn't the worst thing about Planets of Twilight (on my worst list as well) That book is easily forgettable.
But there's so much more awesome things about the the EU that he doesn't mention (or know) I'd like to see an article about them as well!
